I know I know, you all might be thinking from title that this must be for empowerment and same old things. This is going to be a power packed women empowerment article. Let me stop you right there. In fact, this is for you guys..! Everyone shows some respect and so much of importance to women on this day, but is it limited to just one day? Has it all narrowed down to just pictures and quotes on social media? Do you really respect women? Have you ever actually understood them? Have you never underestimated them? Of course, you have done, But you are not responsible for it. Our society and narrow minded perspectives are responsible for this issue.
Our society has determined gender roles and asked us to play our roles accordingly. Thus, the current situation is heavily based on pampering and solidifying male ego. There are so many cases in which people are consciously trying to prove women wrong. Women are getting underestimated. If a woman is getting promotion, people won’t appreciate her efforts at workplace rather they would just assume that she might have done something wrong. If a female has higher degree than males; Laters wouldn’t marry formers just to satisfy their ego. Because they are taught to be dominant in the family. Some people have the psyche that they would marry a girl who is educated and good looking but they won’t allow her to work after marriage; In short, they might marry them just for sex as a care taker for their family and to have children.
I apologize if my words are swords and hurt you or split you into pieces, but this needs to be understood by every single growing guy just to further secure women’s career and their dreams. I won’t say give respect to women or consider them as god. But One should definitely respect every individual be it a man or woman. One must be loved and given respect. These are basic morals.
Women’s day is celebrated to empower women, but they don’t need to be empowered. They are empowered from within. All they want is love, respect and care.
Don’t judge women by their colour, body shape, clothes or occupation. Every women is beautiful with their flaws and yet they are strong . Respect them; they are the one who will make the future of the nation better…!!
