Nowadays, PCOD has taken the world of women by storm.PCOD affects 5-10% of women of 18-45 years.So,It became crucial for youth to understand the disease and its treatment.
Basically,PCOD is cahracterized by many small cysts in the ovaries.It makes the ovary enlarged and lead to excessive production of androgen and oestrogen hormones.Any imbalance in hormones may cause infertility.
PCOD is associated with excess insulin,production of male hormones in high quantity and genetics. There are some contributing factors like unhealthy lifestyle,pollution,stress and many more.
Patients with PCOD may have irregular periods,unusual hair growth,stubborn acne,uncontrolled weight gain,headaches,darkening of skin around neck and so on.. There are certain possibilties where a patient with lean body and clear skin suffer from PCOD..
So before going further in depth let’s talk about its treatment.
The cure is yet to be determined.but if you have these symptoms; please consult a gynaecologist once. Along with it,lifestyle management plays a crucial role. The best way to control PCOD is weight management.
-Do exercises or yoga regularly.
- Increase your physical activity level.
- Reduce your usage of screen time.
- Reduce your stress level by meditation.
-Take regular sleep of 6-7 hrs at night. - consume healthy diet containing low sugar,low carbohydrates and high protein & high fibres.
- avoid excessive intake of soyabins.
- Avoid excessive heat, excessive use of plastic and excessive use of equipment which radiates.
- Don’t take caffeine or any high amout of carbs after 6.00 p.m.
- Avoid beverages.
- strengthen your pelvic and abdominal muscles..
I just gave an overview of the disease and its treatment.As according to research, there are plenty of college going girls who suffer from PCOD but hesitate to consult gynaecologist.
